| About Josh & SJFTeam | |||||||
Josh Lingelbach "Muzzy" - Owner of San Juan Freestyle Team and True Blue Landscaping in Durango, Colorado. Born January 2, 1976 in Couer d'Alene, Idaho, Josh (pictured right, center) was raised in Denver, Evergreen, and Conifer, Colorado. He grew up skiing Summit County and started snowboarding in the early 1980's. Josh also skateboarded and by the age of 13 was sponsored by BC Surf and Sport. This gave him an understanding for competitions, teams, and demos. Josh moved to Durango, Colorado in 1994 and bought the Shred Shed, a local skate/snowboard shop. This gave him experience in the industry as well as sponsorship and events. He was then able to sponsor up-coming athletes and create a temporary skate park called Folsom Park with the help of Durango locals. Eventually, Josh worked with Durango Parks and Recreation and Pete Sakadenski to create the "bowls" for the current skateboard park. Josh sold the Shred Shed and began teaching snowboard classes for Purgatory (DMR) Ride School. He also started Muzzy's Mountain Bike Camp for local kids and a freestyle snowboard team called Rip Sessions. He then met Tim Pappy and Tim Cruz who were involved in the Adaptive Sports Foundation, and started a snowboard program for people with disabilities. He volunteered at Wolf Creek Ski Area to help establish their program. Josh has worked for the X Games and athletes like Shawn White and Terje Hawkinson. He has helped many snowboard competitors further their skills and get recognition for their accomplishments. With his experience Josh has created a high-level, private snowboard team called the San Juan Freestyle Team, or SJFTeam. This is a hand-selected, A-list group. He helps to evolve athletes using riding and industry experience, movement analysis, and mental fortitude. Expansive training from multi-level facets, including dry land training, photo shoots, and filming are used for feedback and sponsorship. Teaching and progressing freestyle are Josh's passions. With over 15 years of teaching and coaching experience, as well as over 25 years of riding experience, starting a private snowboard team has given Josh the opportunity to become a national champion coach. All the athletes from San Juan Freestyle Team took spots on the podium which has given SJFTeam recognition and momentum. "The SJFTeam riders have the most unique personalities and skills and have exceeded any and all expectations! These individuals have made the team what it is and what it will become. Having heart, determination and the work ethic to push their skills, the team has great potential! I am truly honored." - Josh Muzzy Training sites: Purgatory(DMR), Red Mountain, Silverton Mountain, Telluride, Aspen/Snowmass, Buttermilk, Copper, Keystone, Breckinridge, Echo Mountain, Chapman Hill, Wood Ward, and Park City.
